I have an acavallo seat saver and it's really awesome, but I find it unseats me when cantering, does this happen to anybody else or is it just me with a cr*p seat
Yes it is the gel version, and without it I can sit the canter fine, but with it on I can't. I don't know weather it's just because it's higher up making it more unbalanced? Unfortunately I don't have any videos of me cantering, but I can try to get one soon.Too much grip between you and a saddle can be an issue as you're finding, is it the gel out version? The link shows both types, the gel out is very sticky, the gel in can mark saddles. It could be that you're doing something that isn't quite working, with your position and mobility in canter, it might be that it's where the saddle fit for YOU shows up it's issues. Very hard to say, whether it's just the seat saver, or a combination of factors. If you have a clear video of you in canter we might get more of an idea.
And while I'm here, don't use the straps that wrap around underneath, they dent panels. Either cut them off or tuck them between the flaps.

Oh sorry I misunderstood you , the gel is inside it.It's whether it's gel OUT or gel IN , gel out is the one that has the mesh on the top, the jelly sticky finish. The seat needs to be able to move a little, it's why very sticky silicone breeches and very deep seats/big blocks are not generally a good thing.

I don't do much schooling, so yes it is fine to come up out of the saddle on hacks, I was just wondering. I'll check that outYou have two options I guess, to not use it for schooling (as presumably you can come up out of the saddle for cantering on hacks?) or working through what's going on with your trainer and saddle fitter. You might even at some point decide to have some sessions with a specialist rider biomechanics coach, on horse to work out what's going on, though off horse programmes are really helpful if you decide there is something your body isn't doing well. There are so many variables with horse-saddle-rider it's difficult to know what's going on without seeing good videos etc, even then it's better to work with people in person where possible to make sure everything's covered.
I'm not sure? I've been trying to really move my bum in the flow of the canter, if you know what I meanI have the same one as you and it’s fine. My saddle is old and has been repaired more than once on the leather so I don’t care if it marks it. Super comfy, doesn’t change how well I can sit to canter. I can canter fine in any situation with or without saddle though. Are you tensing somehow so you bounce maybe?
