I have an Acavello gel out seat saver which I really ought to use…but I just find it really difficult to ride in? It’s almost too bulky? I find I have to shorten my stirrups as the bulk draws my legs up a hole or 2. I also find it quite hard to rise due to the stickiness and bulk on the pommel/ thigh area. The saddle I ride in is just a bit big and slippy, I really just want a very fine, thin piece of suede or something to put over the top.

Does anyone else have the same issue and can anyone recommend any others?

I use a gel-in, so can recommend. Not tried the gel-out, but have heard a few people say that they are too sticky - however thought that was the point :)

I have a gel out. If you persist the stickiness goes within a few rides. Don't wear sticky bum jods either, just normal jods. Can't say I've ever had to shorten my stirrups though?

I find it bulky and uncomfy under my thighs when doing rising trot. It's a great help to my back for sitting trot though so tending to use it for lessons and competing at Medium and above but not for normal schooling.

I don't find mine too sticky but find that it does not fit the skirt very well and somehow always manages to come 'unhooked' here on at least one if not both sides which is a pain ... hmmm even writing this down I am now not sure how this happens, maybe I grip too much with my thighs ?!? ... hmmm ...

I had one and found it made the twist of my saddle too wide for me, so negated the potential positive effect. It is very sticky so not much good for rising trot, and since I always warm up rising it would be awkward. I tried mine once or twice then sold it!

The prolite one is much better, I've had both, and much prefer it, it's far less bulky and I find it more comfortable as it's a little firmer so you don't feel any movement under your seat.

I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while, but does anyone know if they fit ok on a WOW given that the centre of the seat is slightly rounded upwards (ie. not totally flat like most saddles).

I bought a used Heather Moffatt seat-saver, just to try it without going for the price of a new one.

The main dislike about it was the fact that it moved during riding; to deal with this as I had some repairs going to her anyway, I asked a saddler to put a fixing-strap from the pommel to the cantle, to fasten securely under the gullet.

Think the HM is over-rated and over-priced TBH.

Have not tried any others.
