Does anyone have one of the above?
Just a standard one or ideally the one with dead sheep at front and back to look pretty?
Just wondered how thick the actual gel bit is on them please?
Thanks

The gel isn't that thick. I have a couple of the standard 'sticky' ones but am now using the air release pad and all my horses seem to go well in it. I've had to abandon my 'fluffies' though as it would be too much bulk under the saddle.

Thanks- just had both saddles fitted yesterday and she said to use one of these pads so now just need to decide whether I do really need fluff in my life!
So presumed they are thin as I wanted a prolite but saddler said no as will change the saddle fit but these will be fine and will still mean saddle fits.
Is the air one still as thin?

I have the dead sheep one (not just for prettiness, or so I was told :D)

The gel is 1mm thick at the most. Very thin and shouldn't change the fit of a saddle :)

If you email or call acavallo, they are very helpful. I got the thickness in mm of each pad when I was looking at them, I didn't buy one in the end, but only because I went back to my dead sheep instead. I just looked to see if I still had email but I can't find it, (helpful I know!)

Hi dizzy
Just wondering why the saddler wants u to use one if it isn't to do with fit? Just curious because I would love one but my saddle fits with just a thin nunmah but I'm weird and want something else for optimum comfort (you know, because if I was a horse that's what I would want lol )

I have both with and without fluff, for my 4yr old. Saddle fits great but saddler recommend using one as she isnt that strong through her back and they are shock absorbing. Horse seems to prefer having one so I will continue with it until shes older.

GG- it's because I want something with shock absorption to protect my mares back but she said I couldn't use a fluffy pad as would be too thick. So suggested one of these instead

I'd use one without the sheepskin trim tbh, I found my saddle just rested on the back trim which was annoying, now just use the standard gel
