I was wondering whether anyone has used either of these stallions and could guide me as to which one I should use (im also considering Devil's Jump, but can't find where he is at stud or if he is still around...)
I would be putting them to my event pony, having bred a fab eventer out of Uptons Deli Circus last year, im now looking for a full TB or 7/8ths TB proven eventer I can put her to. Max height would be 16.2.
If you have any other suggestions of stallions I would love to hear them, she is quite laid back so highly strung stallions dont worry me, as long as they are talented!
Thanks.

Devil's Jump to my knowldge and experience is very sharp. Having seen him in action personally I think he is incredibly sharp and would not use him. He is however, related to Kings Composer very closely and he I would use!

Accondy...have also heard he can throw sharp progeny and known quite a few but also seen some very talented and lovely ones.

Mill Law - well his progeny and record speaks for itself......almost unbeatable in terms of progeny performance records as he seems to produce the goods time after time. Temperament as well they are all also to my knowledge absolutre darlings and lovely to train.

Devils jump must still be standing as he is listed as parading at The Southwest Equine fair today.
I have only seen him once when we where alongside him in the ring at a stallion parade and he didnt look at all sharp but i can only go on what i saw.
Accondy was rumoured to be sharp and if he was it would have been through his dam line as his sire Sadlers Wells sires horses with very good temperaments .
Mill Law i have seen lots by him and some are sharp and some arnt so i expect it would depend on the mare again.
He is very proven in terms of offspring but then he was rumoured to be covering over a hundred mares at one point with a high percentage being high class so it is inevitable that he will have a lot of good horses in the public eye.
kings Composer is Devils Jumps half brother ,they share the same mother so theroetically there is the possibility that he could also be sharp but i also think he would be a good cross for a pony mare

I have come across a horse by Devils Jump who was very talented, but very sharp. He was a bit of a brat tbh, which probably didn't help, but was quite endearing! ;)

Mill Law does produce some lovely lovely horses, and as said, some can be lovely, and some have been very sharp, I have seen a lot right from the basics as he stands very locally to me, so the babies are out at local events a lot!

Don;t know much about Accondy, other than it has been mentioned he can throw stock with not the best feet, and is also known to throw sharp progeny. Again, it can depend on the mare though :)

One of my friends bred two fillies by Accondy - sold one that had the nicer, although still 'iffy' temperament, but the other is an absolute witch to handle! Bites, kicks the lot!
My better half went to see Accondy for our mare when he was still in Ayrshire and came back and said "definitely not" as his temperament was such that the handler had to carry a stick at all times!

Thank you, from what your saying, it sound like Accondy would be a real hit and miss with the temperaments. I was wondering whether anyone has had anything to do with 'All That Jazz' an anglo arab competing at advanced with william fox pitt?
Im definitely going to research Kings Composer as i think he looks lovely. Finally, has anyone had any experience with 'Wish Upon A Star'?
many thanks! x

Mill Law I would only use on a mare with good limbs and good bone, but having said that he seems to be producing the odds.

Accondys stock are just way too hit and miss for my liking , although he is an impeccable looking horse himself, not sure how well he is stamping his offspring. I have known Accondy stock that were seriously nasty temperments, but then again there are a handfull that are doing very well eventing.

Its hard to know because you dont know how many mares these stallions have covered and what kind of mares they were out of

Wish Upon a Star's eldest stock are foals and yearlings and so it is very hard to say there is hope but what I have seen has been stunning and everyone has said what lovely temperament's they have.

I'm assuming that there is frozen semen available from Accondy as he died a few years ago. We had one by him and she was the sweetest, kindest mare imaginable. However, have heard of a good few who are sharper than sharp, though almost always very talented.

I used Future Illusion on my event pony mare, foal due next year.

She is pretty laid back, I just wanted to refine her and add height. She has excellent limbs and feet.

He is Fleetwater Opposition x

Dam line has Criminal Law and way way back is Skippy, sire of Jumbo

i have had first hand experience of accondy progeny, one has been on our yard, owner is selling as too much for her, spooky and opinionated, but very stunning to look at, and a lovely mover, ruth edge has an 'accondy' stallion that she evented very successfully this year, again a stunning horse why not try him, not too big for a pony mare as well. we also had a king's composer, brilliant horse very good jumper but they are also quite sharp ok for those who know what they are doing though. mill law stock are lovely to look at don't know much about them otherwise
