acorns in fields

Hi all, i’ve moved yards this weekend, and without realising there are a few acorn trees in the fields the horses are grazing in. I’ve moved with a friend and all four of our horses seem to have developed a taste for them, we are going to go and collect as many as we can up tomorrow. The people who own the land have been collecting them with a machine on a tractor, but i’ve read this isn’t usually enough - i’ve been stressed enough about the move and now very worried about this - has anyone any advice? The yard owner has not fenced these parts of fields off and there seems to be a few trees around.
I don’t want to be quick to move yards as one of our ponies is in his 30s and he’s done very well with this move

Can you buy your own energiser and put an electric fence up?
I don’t believe this would be an option, as all the horses on yard share fields, we have only moved onto there this weekend. Myself and my friend are going to speak to the yard owner tomorrow, but there seems to be quite a few oak trees around the fields

I fence off my oak trees with leccie fencing when the acorns are falling, it’s the only way. Some horses do develop a taste for acorns and go sniffing them out. While eating a few isn’t usually a problem, gorging on large quantities is.

Raking them daily isn’t adequate when they are coming down in large numbers, which they won’t be yet.
