I anticpate starting walk work in 10 days time for the second time around and may ask my vet about ACP.

My Horse strolls around like he is in a coma and then when you least expect it explodes.

Is ACP expensive and how long before you pluck up the courage to climb aboard your trusty steed do you give it ?

Is it expensive ?

Not expensive at all. I've only used it once, we gave it an hour before to be on the safe side but I'd say it started much sooner. Lasted 3 - 4 hours

Sedaline is basically the same stuff in a tube and easy to administer. My boy had a tendon injury last year and was confined for about three months. Trial and error with him showed that about 2-2.5 of Sedaline 45 mins-1 hour before each ride took the edge of him and and made him sane ! He is 16.2hh and about 650kg. Used it until we had started the trot work. Hope that helps.

I have used ACP on a few horses on box rest, I found it made them sane (all but one which it had no affect on her tbh!) except when they went to explode they did explode with no warning at all. I dont know if that was just the 2 ex racers being TB's or the ACP. It worked but keep your wits about you!!!!!
