I wanted a few ACP tabs 2 keep 4 when i clip in the winter, but im sure u can only get from the vet?am i right???.Trying to avoid high vet fees!

POM- however your vet can write you a perscription and you can buy the medicine from an online pharmacy where you normally can get a better price. Vets also are NOT allowed to charge for writing you a perscription!

Hi thought i just would add that i tried using it to clip and make sure you tell the vet weight and size as 2 tablets on my 16.2 mare still wasnt enough o clip her and i still had to use the twitch!

Best ring the vet for advice on how many. Not trying to say 2 is wrong but i have had same problem and he might give you a few extra as only few pence each

true, but a vet will only write the precription if they're seen the horse as the horse still has to be under their care. so unless you've seen your vet recently, they will want to see the horse and then you'll have to pay a call-out and examination fee and so might as well get the drugs from them!

If you have a good relationship with your vet & he knows & trusts you a quick phonecalll should suffice & price for enough to clip with should be minimal. My vet is fine if I call & say I need enough to sedate horse X for clipping/tail pulling etc.

yeah, that's fine if you know your vet well and see them regularly - but if yuo're a one horse owner who sees the vet once a year for vaccinations they're unlikely to agree to prescribe unless they've been out to you very recently.

Think it prob depends on the vet, most i have found are happy to allow it providing you explain your reasons. Also if your just asking for one dose its different to asking for a whole pot (100 tabs) of ACP!
Personally though i prefer the gel sedizine! Get better results quicker than the tabs!

we dont prescibe anything unless we've seen the animal in the last 6 months and prescription laws say the animal must be under your care, but horse vets are notorious at ignoring the rules!
