my boy had bloods done to check his acth levels they have gone from 26 to 75, hes on 1 prascend a day, vet wants him to have 1 and a 1/2 a day.. dose this mean hes getting worse or what? is it just that time of year? hes looking so well too...:(

I am expecting my boy's levels to have gone up when he gets tested in a couple of weeks. ACTH levels naturally go up in the autumn due to changes in daylight hours so I wouldn't be too worried. I am expecting him to have his medication upped even if only temporarily:o

I'm a new member and posted my first thread yesterday "Just been diagnosed with Equine Cushings..."
My horse has just been diagnosed Wednesday, blood tests came back with ACTH level 78.8 pg/ml and was advised that normal is less than 47. I still on my rapid learning curve about Cushings (!) and I'm confused as to why your boy was diagnosed with level of 25?

It's accepted that horses naturally get a seasonal ride in ACTH in the autumn.

Hold on tight and pray for it to pass without incident :o
