Ugh, My lovely Musto training jacket, has finally given up on me, the zip has gone, as has the sleeves and the hood. So I thought I would just replace it, however it looks like Musto aren't doing the equestrian range any more! *Sobs*
So suggestions for a quality waterproof riding jacket, ideally with a hood and not too long for riding in, and if possible with a bit of quilting/ padding. (Musto was fleece lined)

Thank You!

Neither my Musto (winter) nor Berghaus were labelled equestrian. And one can wear them over a solid fleece when it is cold. Both are good. My daughter coxed an eight and Musto are made to go out on water in all weathers.
I have a waterproof Driza-bone really waterproof coat but I dont like it to ride in. It was bought at a show when it was teeming down. The fabric is quite rigid, the leg straps dont fit on a shorter person. Waste of my money really. I put it over my knees when watching polo on rainy days.

Wellenstyn are brilliant - the only truly waterproof coats I have ever owned . They are expensive but I always seem to be able to find one in TKMaxx ( or ' The Room of Requirement ' as it's known in our house ) . I have a short one for riding/walking but my best find was the full length 'Eismantel ' which is sold by some horsy retailers as a 'coaching coat ' ( ie something to stop you freezing to death when you're stood in the middle of an open field giving a lesson in a sub zero arctic storm ). It's fab - like walking around in a fitted sleeping bag , it has an internal blouson that you can fasten at the waist to keep the cold out if you're riding and want to open the poppered skirts and a hood that's big enough to go over a riding hat ! I happily paid my £60 for it and then when I got it home I found a label/price tag in the pocket for 499 euros ! Bargain !
Always seem to be loads of Musto in TKMaxx too .

You can still find Musto riding jackets on ebay if you are lucky, I lost out on one last week which only went for £37 and should have upped my bid!

I have a kingsland Dillon which I have to say has never ever let me down! It’s going into its second winter and is my only 100% trustworthy coat.
It’s a light weight so I have bought a cheap down jacket liner and it’s the most perfect combo!
