Are any of these photos decent enough for an ad? If so, which one/two would you pick?

*this one would only be as a bonus - but I think it just shows her whole character off in one snapshot*

*too untidy??* She has a super jump, and I'm not sure whether this shows it off well enough.

She will be advertised as a hunter, so none of the above may be suitable. In which case, when she goes hunting, I could get some some nice standing ones, or if I get the chance some jumping ones???

I'm not putting any flatwork pics on there - she won't do it properly, *back, teeth and tack been checked btw* and doesn't like it, so I don't want to mislead people who would want to do schooling etc...

Any imput appreciated, thanks.

I like the trotting in the field one and the headshot. The 2nd jumping one she is standing off alot which doesn't look great. Also the 1st jumping one is lovely however you cannot really see her legs. For all they know they could be dangling and she may not have picked up at all (I'm sure she did but they wouldnt know

) The cantering in the field is also nice

Aww how come you are selling her I thought you was getting on fine.
If you advertise her as a hunter then you might want some pics of her hunting but you already know that. Conformation shot could be a bonus aswell.

None of them other than the headshot - sorry
crazy.gif
The trot one doesn't show her feet off and I would wonder whether you are trying to hide them! Just get a decent one of her stood up if she is selling as a hunter.

I think try and get a nice one at the hunt meet and hope a proffessional photographer snaps you over a hunt jump, as although the first photo is a good jump it is a tiny bit out of focus so would probably not look very good if it were smaller in a magazine say. If you are selling as a hunter it will appeal to people if they see her standing calmly at a meet. Also you will be both well turned out which i think makes a more attractive advertisement

Yes I love those two - she looks so happy!!
It's true, I will try and get a better jumping shot when I have the chance - I might just put the trotting one and get one of her out hunting. the headshot would be 3rd, but I don't think there is anywhere which you can have 3 ad photos!! ta for the help.X

Oh guyyssss, don't apologise - I wanted opinions, and I got them!

Do you have any decent jumping videos which you could take stills from?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, but the stills would be horrible quality......that top one is the most decent wuality I can get the stills.

I adore the trot one from XC - obviously she isn't in an outline etc but as you've said you're not selling her on the strength of her flatwork. As I've said before, there's just something about that photo that would make me want to buy her.
tongue.gif

What about this one?
IMG_1238.jpg

or your pro pic from the same fence which is obviously better quality? She looks a picture of health in the pics from the XC which is a bonus.
The first jumping one there is nice as it shows she's capable of more than tiddly fences, but you can't see much of what she's actually doing.

I personally love the canter one but it might not be attractive to most buyers as it makes her look a bit wild!
tongue.gif
THe headshot is lovely as you say, but I don't think the last jumping one shows her off to her best.

I want her!

I thought you had some pics of her doing XC type fences? Or poss I have you confused with someone else!!
Horsemart lets you have 3.

It probably was me, but I can't for the life of me remember *where* they are.

I might've gone through them and thought none of them were decent though....

Hmmm, she looks honest, but then that jump is SO small, and she isn't picking up her feet over it, which is unusual for her.

Achhh, long story - she just wants to hunt, and it's stopping me from doing what I want to do with her. I think she needs to be in a mainly hunting home - she will be great at it, and she is very bold and sure footed, and has always got me out of trouble, and that I'm grateful for. She's taken my confidence away and then throughout the year has made me feel like I can do anything - She has been brilliant, but she's in the wrong job/I just got the wrong horse. It took me a year to realise, stupidly, and I will miss her like hell, but that's life. It would be lovely to sell her to somebody we knew, so at least we could keep in touch. She just really deserves SO much better than what I can give her, she owes me absolutely nothing, and I feel I owe it to sell her on to a proper hunting home, as that's what she was put on this earth to do, not faff around with me. She has put up with me remarkably well for a whole year, but I think enough is enough now, and it really hurts, because I have grown so close to her, but hey, if she's happy, I'm happy.

I think I've sort of answered my own thread question in that - I'm going to need hunting pics.

Put your hunting clothes on, plait up and have a photo session.

Do a decent shot of her stood up to show conformation. One of you jumping a hedge or fence and one of you sitting on her. Get another horses bum in the background and it will look like you are at a meet.

Very important to dress up, prospective buyers will find it easier to picture themselvs hunting her

Well, if she's going to the 'real' party anyway, might as well do it there

Make sure you take loads and loads of pics at the meet and that shes looking very tidy...id try and get an action one if possible, and on of her stood square. that way people can see she actually hunts.
