Adding pictures to a post

Please can someone explain to me (preferably in words of one syllable) how to uplaod photographs to a post.
When I tried to add an image it asked for the URL.

What is a URL??

I would love add some pics.

You need to save you photos on an image hosting site (Like Photobucket). Think there is a sticky in the photo album forum which will explain further.
