Addington BSJA

Urggghhhhhh. Why do we show-jump?! I got there at 11.30, my horse being inconsideratly dirty (might help if I did more than wave a brush at his arse during the week!), and W having decided last night was a good time to give himself a puncture wound... As BBs said only a couple left to jump in the BN so decided to go for the Discovery. Went and did my entry, put my number down in the first available space...number 69!!! *no sniggering at the back*. It was run concurrently with the 1m open, and between the two classes there were over 100 entries in the end. It's mid-week FFS people! Go and get jobs! (like I'm one to talk!). So by the time I jumped I was bored out of my tree! Anyway, Liberty has decided he is now a VERY CONFIDENT YOUNG MAN! Which meant that over-rode it all rather and we had two down, both on our way out of related distances. He didn't look at anything, not even the water-tray. So now we have resolved the issue of going over fences we apear to need to work on leaving them up

So a few V poles and angled cross poles before Patchetts on Monday methinks... Anyway, left there at 3! Having not hung around at all after my round. So £30 diesel, £15 entry fee, best part of £5 on lunch, two down, and bugger all to show for it. So, returning to my original question, why do we show-jump?!

HAHA sorry *I was the one SNIGGERING*

In answer to your question.........Well what else are you going to do with your day??? PMSL

Okay - I'll get my coat!

Pleased bootiful Liberty jumped round no problems

I guess, its all down to being such a good venue, sort of shot itself in the foot really!!

Oh hard luck! At least there was no disasters! I think we all wonder why we bother showjumping sometimes!

You don't happen to know who the photographers were do you? I remember looking at their stand and thinking it was a very un-obvious web-address, but can't remember for the life of me who it was. It wasn't John Britter. It was image something I think.

I suppose the nice thing with sj is that you can go out very regularly and put the disappointment behind you, whereas so often eventing, especially as you go up the levels, competitions are few and far between!

What a frustrating day I often wonder why we bother.

I complain that I have no great venues within reach down - well not of Addington standard but at least when I go and jump the classes are usually around 40 mark, 20 mid week and 60 on a really bad day or for a qualifier.

Oh bad luck ! Still, you got out and did something....if you can't event, you might as well showjump eh

Don't complain that there were 100+ in the class though ! That means they would have paid 20+ places....or a double clear would probably do lol!

Clear round at addinton on wednesday evening was just as bad. They didn't start the 1m until 10pm....long evening.

Have the pleasure of being there on saturday from 9am until they finish.
