ADDINGTON .......MOAN!!!!!!!!

I booked a stable over the weekend, but as you all know I had probs with transport etc... so cancelled my stable, I telephoned and also e-mailed them.....thought nothing more of it until today.........I had a letter from the bank saying they had presented the cheque for £60 and now I have incurred bank charges..£38!! Grrrrrrhhhhhhhh..have to count every penny so only put into bank what I need to draw out on cheques...........

I was told that they get thousands of e-mails and most of them are filtered through as spam??!!!! Why have an e-mail if no-one is going to look at them?? I addressed it REGIONALS too in capitals...gave my name, horses, name, address etc........apparently you have to fax!! Why do they have a section on their web site encouraging you to e-mail with your comments then??!!

I called them today and I have got to call back on Friday now as none can deal with it until then.......sorry, have to moan as £38 is a big deal to me!!!

i'd ring your bank to beg nicely... they often waive charges like these (i used to work in a bank...!) ask for a meeting with bank manager to discuss it if necessary. got to be worth a try. what a nightmare, poor you. very bad of Addington, they should refund the £60 at the very very least.

Telephoned my bank but because everyone is now trying to get charges refunded it did not work!! They would not budge.......I think I will write a letter..........I do feel they need some help there though as I heard many people complaining about various things over the weekend.......Dont normally moan about things but when it comes to taking my money......!!!!!! Especially as most of us are on a breadline!! and the fact I called AND e-mailed them too......what more can you do eh??!!!!
 
If no one complains, they are then allowed to get away with it. If they are having organisational issues then they need to sort it out or competitors need to vote with their feet/hooves!

Perhaps Addington know they are the only venue of its size in the locality that host a lot of events and a getting a tiny bit confident that the bucks will keep rolling in?
 
I rang BD to lodge an official complaint about them, happy to PM you what I sent.

BD were really helpful and sent me a reply today saying that I was not the only one and they would be speaking to Addington about a refund.
 
They are SO bad. I have had several conversations with them about the fact I dont have a fax machine and that if I email it it arrives in exactly the same format and they can just print it but no, they wont
 
it will all fall on deaf ears as they think they are 'king' in the world of dressage the man that has the lease on the center is a horrid individual, i know i used to be based there and when the owner ran it i did all the stabling for the big shows and i can proudly say never had problems like this.
they seem toforget that they are in a service industry and we all pay good money , hard earned at that. I will do my upmost not to use the place. Wont put money in that mans hand. The attidude of the rest of them is as a result of his leadership.
The more people that complain the better, its theft after all, does'nt cost much to go to small claims court by the way!!
 
I know, I am Legal Assistant! But it is a right pain and really I do agree that I have never come across such lack of admin/secretarial/organisational skills......again, sorry to moan and do not wish to disrespect anyone who works there BUT regardless if is the BEST venue in the world, we are its customers, and if we behave in a polite and have a non-confrontational manner why do we deserve such behaviour back?? My manner towards secretaries and organisers is impeccable I must say!!! and I normally thank them for putting the show on etcc....

How can you not have anyone to answer your query for a couple of days and then when asked if they want my phone number to call me back ... be told "she wont call you back" you will have to call her again!! Sorry, I think they need my services over there!!!

LOL.... I shall definately be writing to them and BD and anyone else who want to listen.......!!!!!! Being polite and curtious does not cost a thing!!
 
Are there any rules regarding the BD forum? I am just thinking perhaps it would be worth starting a thread on there. Getting everybody to write about their bad experience with Addington. Then perhaps BD will take a look and try and do something serious about giving them a kick!!

Not overnighted there before , but I have had to cancel stabling at other venues ( showing) and not got any refund at all!
The said "if we can re-let it we'll refund" but they didn't,
 
Horses are so expensive ,just had 2 shod and 2 trims, took 3 hours cost me a weeks wages. Can't afford to waste a penny.I had the same problem with my bank ,I have had charges before and wrote a nice letter and got refund but tried this last month and got a letter saying about the court actions going on and now they are waiting for the outcome so no refunds
 
ha!!! Ok I have done!!! Now I bet they will mark me down at the Nationals..........there she is...........the blooming trouble maker............GET HER!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!

I would like to think that it is constructive critic, as my trainer says to me ........when he is hurling abuse at me!!!!!!!!! HA!!!

Think if you look back a few pages on the BD forum there is a thread about this subject already so you are obviously not the only ones to have had a problem. Have to say Patchetts did a superb job with the regionals there, not to rub salt in or anything!!

Ok, Jo C!!!! LOL!!!

If I now be totally honest, as the ball is rolling now, I must admit, there were no flowers, anything outside to imply it was a regional event... unlike Patchetts, College who dress it all up and make you feel like you are at a Championships....... The facilities for outside music was not in my opinion, correct me if I am wrong, up to much, the music was low and there was just not any championship feeling...sorry.......thats it... I am done now... phew.......!!! The inside was great though, had you feeling like you WERE at a championships.....and the food was fab thanks!!, the lady inside who called you in for your test was also great, polite, friendly, AND although they do not "do e-mails" must admit the results did come up fast on their web site.......a first, well done for that!!
 
Agree with everything you say about them, Freestyler, and I hope that you get your money back. I think BD should threaten to boycott them unless they improve their customer service. Which is SHOCKING.
