Thought I would post my first comp report on HHO. Went to Addington on Saturday with a very worried mother as we had begun to think we had outclassed ourselves when we had typed a couple of entrants into BDWP and saw everyone else had 20 something dressage scores at PN and N and we were taking along my jumping machine with a disdain for all things dressage

! Warmed up ok for stressage, not too much like a giraffe but she was a bit nervy as people were literally cantering at you leaving a foot on the outside track for you to pass. After this I spent most of the time working in walk in the centre of the school as the track was much too scary place to be! Went to test in bottom arena (good as hidden from view a bit!) It managed umm... all of three movements before the first canter in a reasonable outline before exploding and from then on it was a bit of a point and fire between the markers test! Got a score of 44 which although sounds disgraceful (and was!) it certainly wasn't last. A couple of piccies ( I really need to sit up and look up!)

Bit disappointed at the size of the fences, did PN class but would have happily done the novice but didn't enter that one as I would have never considered entering a BE event at novice level if I were affiliated. Had good fun and blasted round the xc clear, unfortunately she then took the same liberty around the SJ and it was rather unintentionally speedy, got a bit close to a poley upright and had 4 faults. Was very pleased with her though as she rarely goes out to parties now I am at uni! Don't know where I came put there were plenty worse so I felt she held her own even if she isn't an eventer! No pictures of SJ as they came out blurry but a couple of the xc

There are also some prof ones at image point photography- No. 124 if you are interested!
Well done if you got this far- cookies for all!

Lovely horse but erm... did no one mension your nose band???? Grackle i do not think is legal for the dressage phase? be care ful as this may cause you problems at an affiliated event. Id hate you to get eliminated for somthing so silly.
I was judging later on in the day so i would have mensioned it if you had been infront of me.

You are allowed a grackle for British Eventing dressage, it didn't say which rules it was run under but I took the grackle as it was a british eventing test but had the flash in the car just in case- obviously I wouldn't have used it specifically said under british dressage rules.
