Took Betsy to Addington today. Unfortunately missed the close of entries for the BN by 15 mins, having sat in traffic round Aylesbury, so sat through a riveting 45 horses or so... Just entered her for the Disco as I know they build quite big there. Walked the course, seemed fine, although there was a wter tray (she's not seen one before), and a fence plenty had had stops at in the BN which had a chunky green wall under it.

Started her warm-up well, popped her first fences nicely, then came down to quite a sizeable oxer which she jumped quite nicely, came back to it and she made a HUGE effort over it being ultra-careful. Popped a few more and she kept doing it, so jumped a smaller upright before we went in.

Let her have a look at the tray and the first double which was off a dog leg, then we were off. Nice shot to the first - and it came down

. Nice over the next few, although still ballooning them a bit and making it hard work for herself. Smacked her going into the tray at 4, but I needn't have. There was a pretty interesting picture of us over this! Got into her stride after that (it was single phase, so it was a long course), unfortunately as we came into 11 which was the one others had been stopping at I'd have liked to have sat and waited for a short stride I could see, but worried she'd back off I over rode and we ended up with no stride and took it with us. Popped the last nicely. Bought two good pics, so that's her ad sorted! She just felt as if she'd overstretched herself in the warm-up, so tomorrow at Keysoe I'll make damn sure I'm there in time for the BN!
