Started out on Monday night with the 1m clear round, we've been so inconsistant recently that i felt i needed something to school around. She warmed up beautifully, but for some reason i was really nervous. We went in and i found it hard to find my rhythm, as a result we ended up having a very 'stop...start....stop...start' sort of round, and had a stop at an oxer. I decided to go in a second time and still struggled to control the canter, although it was better we still had a refusal at a fence....
So four faults for each round.
Off we went again (i think i should set up camp there at the moment!) with the intention of jumping the 1.05m and the newcomers. But when we got there (around 1pm ish) they were still on the disco! I was so tired we decided to just stay and jump the 1.05....so warmed up and again she felt really good, popped over everything no problems and managed to contain the canter. Even though it was a bigger class i was more confident and it showed. I got a lovely rhythm and jumped around the first few no problems, she was really steady and listening...i almost lost my way after number seven, and had a moment of mental block, but managed to remember just in time and finished clear! I'm so pleased!!
We weren't quick enough to get a place (as it was A4 and lots of people took tighter lines etc)...but it was great to finally jump clear!! YeY!
A pic a friend of mine took, from the monday night:
