Over all I had a brilliant time!
grin.gif
Even if limp was a bit of a monkey
smirk.gif

Warming up was horrible! There were people flying at you from every direction and everytime I looked at somebody thery were always looking down!
I had to give mum a crash course in doing practice fences
tongue.gif
For a beginner she did very well
grin.gif
The boy was taking a flyer at everything and I would have liked to have jumped him a bit more but everytime I landed after a fence somebody would cut in front of me so I just walked around for a few minutes waiting for my round.
When I went in, picked up canter, first fence, perfect! Then limp decided he was picking the speed
smirk.gif
so I was just a passenger for the entire round. we got a bit deep in places and rolled a pole as a result and we took a few flyers at a couple of fences (especially the last one

) but I had fun even if it did take a few las of the arena to stop

Here is the video......all I can say is thank god it's not the best quality, my bad riding is slighty hidden

(Please bear in mind that I'm stll trying to get used to him)

Video!

Kat,

I'm at work so can't watch the vid (our 386 machines can't cope with technology). But I'm glad you had a good time, at least he doesn't mind busy practice rings or people charging into the side of him

Mandy

Well, it didn't look too bad to me
smile.gif
The rhythm is actually about right (i know it probably felt a lot quicker than you were happy with !) you just need to get the stride length right with him and you'll be meeting everything spot on. He's certainly got a pop in him
wink.gif

What class was that btw ?

i couldnt really see the vid as the picture quality came out really poor on my screen.

But it sounds like you did really well for your first comp with him, and he coped well in the warm up which is good. Im sure once you get used to him and get him out competing lots you will be winning everything!

Agree with Rambo
smile.gif

Rhythm looked just about right to me

I apologise for not being there, but blame my boss

I couldnt go to support my friend either *sob*

See now you shoudl go and do the 85cm Open there this morning and the BN afterwards. Okay perhaps not today, but next time, go and do the Clear Round on teh Wednesday night and then go there the following day.

BIG PATS! because I know what its like to be nervous
smile.gif

Well done
laugh.gif
You looked good to me! I think it is really impressive that you are already out jumping
grin.gif
. Bet you can't wait till the next time! Limp looked like he was having a ball. Never mind teaching your Mum how to put up practice fences how did she cope with the new lorry? I would have been terrified to leave it alone in the car park!!

Aw, thankyou everbody fo the lovely comments
grin.gif

Rambo: it was the 95cm. The pace felt a bit quick but it looked okay on the video (I keep telling myself that things always feel worse than they look)
tongue.gif

P_G: I hope so
grin.gif

BB's: same you couldn't make it, I thought you would have already left when I arrived but I was looking out for you anyway
laugh.gif

_C_ : No I can't! I'm itching to go out and jump some BSJA now: grin:

Wolfie: Thankyou
laugh.gif
I'm shocked that I went out and did it and didn't feel nervous or worried once. Yes I'm dying to go out again. Mum was okay about leaving the box...... she made sure she parked it in a big space well away form other boxes

You did the 95!!!!

OMG, you couldn't tell from the video what height it was. You have seriously changed in a week. Well Done

I still can't believe I went in and happily jumped round and that I was peeved that it wasn't very wide

Olympic has very quickly made me realise that I can do it and that I don't need to interfere with the horse on the approach and sitting still won't kill me
