Just wondered if anyone has used this in youngsters?

My 17mth yearling has come through hock arthroscopy and a small lesion was debrided, vets arent convinced that this was what was causing her 5/10 lameness (unless she really is a total wimp). No "true" OCD was seen and no protein in the joint tap.

So we are on 8 weeks box rest with hand walking post stitches removal with back for review.

However after lots of investigation in USA they seem to adequan in youngsters alot as its a good supportive therapy, vets have confirmed this and say there is no harm and a joint supplement wouldnt do any harm either.

So really just looking to see if anyone has done this with their youngsters? I want to give her the best chance of getting back and "fit" so any suggestions welcome!

I had this injection for my horse twice, once in his hock joints and once in his tendon sheath. It seemed to be quite effective. he had one injection on the same day every week for seven weeks and my friend did it as she wasn't squeamish like me. Difficult to hurt your own horse even if it does them good in the long run! My horse wasn't young at the time of the injections but my friend used them for her young horse who was five at the time and they seemed to be effective for him but he has juvenile arthritis so not sure what the outcome will be. He is six now and was diagnosed as a four year old.
