Stunning, Quality, Ultimate, Superb ....

What do you reckon?

Stunning makes me laugh cos it's overused and everytime my daughters see it anywhere (we have a local pub with an apparently 'stunning' garden. We all start laughing.

Quality, immediately develops a glottal stop and becomes a Brixton market trader.

Ultimate is too exclusive, there may indeed be an ultimate schoolmaster but how would you prove it, and I doubt this one is it.

Superb is a bit blah, isn't it. What does it mean?

So ... Genuine (always a bit worrying, implying a bit dull) .... Top Class ... doesn't mean a thing ... what would we like then, in that all importan headline .

One of my favourites (no joke) is does a 'pretty' dressage test. Just means pleasing, can't say accurate or anything because it depends on the rider but its just kind of...pleasing.
But don't like 'cute'...oh wonderful just the quality I want in a horse!!!

You are just one straight talking person! I agree though tell it how it is and quit the flowery bullshit!

I just want people to drop the sales speak and BE HONEST! Too much BS in my opinion, and not enough basic info and facts. That's all you want in an ad - and a decent pic.

So:

Slightly wonky, though hopefully you won't notice that, 16hh (well there abouts, I wouldn't swear to it) chestnut gelding. Kind eyes but sadly nothing between them, doesn't spook 99.9% of the time, which is why it's so unnerving when he does. Generally good to do, has been known to barge out of his door flattening you in the process, but not often. Does a passable dressage test if Belinda's judging so try and stick with her. Seen hounds. Probably wouldn't like to see them again. Lots of potential. 16 by the way, but still got his best years ahead of him, surely? Please don't bother coming if you just want to be rude about him, or expect me to halve the price before you've seen him, even though frankly it is a bit eye watering but Julie down our yard reckons I'd be made to put him on for less, though obviously I'll probably take loads less. £4,500 o.n.o.

Something like that you mean?

PMSL:D

I may be naive but I do like the word 'Honest'. That may well be because I don't WANT to hang on for dear life when I climb on board (which is what 'forward-going' means, right?) but it makes me think: Predictable... I can sit my 2 yr old daughter in front of me and not have to plan a funeral.

I LOVE the above advert lol!

The one that gets me is 'jumping machine / rosette machine'. It's a horse / pony not a machine!

Ohh, a pet hate of mine too!!
I would just like the facts and good pics then I can make my own decisions. Those advertised as stunning so rarely are; potential in anything over about 10 is a worrier; cute -blerugh! I would like to know age, height, sex, breed, what it has done (% if dressage, double clears and heights if SJ etc!) and if it is spooky or forwards, or a steady neddy. Then I can make my mind up as to wether I would consider it 'ultimate' 'stunning' 'perfect confo' etc!!

I hate it when people describe them as this! It makes me angry... if the on;y reason you want a horse is because you want them to win you lots of pretty rosettes I don't think you should buy a horse IMO...

Also, if I'm being picky: 100% in traffic. No horse can ever be anymore than 99.9% in traffic at absolute best because horses are unpredictable animals and even the most safest horse can have a spook from time to time.

I must say Skewbald Again your horse sounds positively delightful, could we arrange a viewing? :)

Funniest thing I have read in a long time, thanks for that :)
