Can someone please reccommend me brands which make leather saddles with an adjustable gullet?

I am clueless when it comes to things related to saddles...

I have heard of Kent and Masters and Thorowgood T6 are there any others? Are these any good?

Thankyouuu.

Collegiate, Bates & GFS.

In my opinion- Bates is an expensive leather version of Wintec and Collegiate is a cheaper version of Bates. No idea about GFS though.

My OH bought a Bates a couple of months (yes i was very jealous) Lovely saddle, really good quality and very comfy!
He originally wanting a GFS adjustable but saddler said that GFS has changed the leather and they aren`t half as good as what they used to be, saddler wasnt trying to get more as the GFS was more expensive that Bates.
Barnsby also do an adjustable saddle which I`m saving up very slowly for.

Have you tried ebay?Or would you rather brand new.Theres a few for sale on there.A barnsby and theres a bates caprilli starting at 99p.lol.hope you find one

Thorrowgood t6 isn't leather - but is a fab saddle if the shape suits your horse.
I have a Fairfax GP which has a changable gullet. Really comfy for the both of us, and looks v smart I think. Had it about a year now and it still looks brand new (despite a few drenchings on hacks and perhaps not the most diligent cleaning!).

I bought a kent & masters saddle for my mare they were very helpful and even made one in brown for me. It looks very good and can easily be adjusted if needed.

The Thorowgood L6 is the leather adjustable saddle. I have this one for my young horse as the saddler advised that while he grows and changes shape I would be better with a slightly adjustable saddle. I find it very comfortable, mine is a GP/jump so slightly more forward cut which is perfect for me. The different knee rolls (velcro-ed in place) are also really handy.

It has just been restuffed this year and when the saddler came to check it, he said he would be able to get it to fit all 3 of the horses we have at the moment. A really good buy I think as it has fitted 4 horses really well.

I have had a wow saddle in the past that was very expensive and caused lots of problems, so it makes the L6 seem all the better, and a lot cheaper!

I promise you it is all synthetic (with the exception of the girth straps), the t6 is their posher saddle range. The synthetic really is very good and wears well. The girth straps are leather as synthetic ones stay rather hard to handle and don't soften in the way leather does so leather is preferable for the girth straps.

I used to have an L6 too and it was very nice. I had the gp. Knee rolls were a bit small for jumping but they were velcro ones and the girth straps were removable and moveable which was handy.

Its the groove in the middle of the two 'panels' (which sit on the horses back) underneath the saddle:)

:D Okay, I know channel and tree. It's just another word for the channel between the panels? Ore the size of the tree which can be adjustable?

(like Ainsley had with a special key ore Wintec with it changeable tree? )
