Adjusting to new grass

Hello all,
Hope this falls under feeding. My horse is moving yards in two weeks time from quite short stressed grass into a field with longer grass, I will be fencing him into a smaller area. However do I need to gradually change him over? He’s a very easy doer and I wouldn’t want to cause any illness by a sudden change in grass, if so how would be best to do this, shorter hours? Or one day off one day on?

Mine haven’t moved yards but they have moved fields from very short grass (they’ve been on it all summer) to the rested grazing. I started with an hour or two per day and built up. I also invested in grazing muzzles this year given the grass growth!

Agree with tatty..I’d be allowing access for short periods of time..and may also add a gut balancer/protector to a small feed each day too.
