ADOPT A DOG 2012 (calendar competition) FRONT COVER

Aw Cayla, you really are kept in the dark aren't you:p. Mind you it took me ages to find out Evie had won the "vote off" last month. Now I have some money in the bank will have to decided what picture I want to send and get my bid in.

Piebaldsparklesque bumpage! Entries are closing midnight tonight, and thanks to those who have already put in bids. :)

Congratulations Piebaldsparkle, Ozzie is going to be on the front cover :D

Big thanks to all who took part, both in the cover comp and the monthly votes. The finished product will hopefully be available in a few weeks time :D

Sorry to resurrect this thread but now that the cover competition is over (congrats Ozzie & PBS!) we're choosing what pictures will go into which months on the calendar so that we can start pulling it together for printing. The Winners Gallery (here) has been updated and we want (and most definitely need!) your help picking. So, let us know if you have any suggestions by filling in a dog's name next to a month below. If you have a winning dog, feel free to suggest the month you'd like if that month has special meaning for you and your dog. Otherwise you can match pictures with the months they look like they were taken in. For instance, that's a lovely fire in the background of Flora's photo so it looks like it might be good for a winter picture:

January:
February:
March:
April:
May:
June:
July:
August:
September:
October:
November:
December:

Even if you don't have a winning dog, we still want your help so suggest away. The more input we have, the better! :)

Yep Flora is a winter pic for sure! Maybe November? Its quite a poignant month for me, our last vizz Acorn was born and taken from us in November.

Flora would be a great November and I don't see why Talisker shouldn't be December ... it's an indoor photo so nothing particularly summery. That said, even a summery picture could do a winter month as well - think how lovely it would be to see that sun come the long winter months.

Here are the suggestions/requests so far:

January:
February:
March:
April:
May:
June:
July:
August:
September:
October:
November: Flora
December: Talisker

Keep them coming!

Splash has to be a summer picture, maybe July or August (not that you can guarantee that will be summer nowadays:().
Possibly Evie for September as that is a windfall apple she has nicked.

Here are the suggestions/requests so far. I've noted which are which so that we can try to honour requests first and move around the others if someone strongly wants one of the already suggested months or another month than the one suggested for their dog instead:

January:
February:
March:
April:
May:
June:
July:
August: Splash (s)
September: Evie (s)
October:
November: Flora (r)
December: Talisker (r)

MM, I took yours as a suggestion. Let me know if you'd prefer it to be a request instead.

January:Micky and Chip
February:Ozzie
March:Bella
April: Borris
May: Tyson
June: Caddy
July: Bonnie and Clyde
August: Splash (s)
September: Evie (s)
October: Bryony
November: Flora (r)
December: Talisker (r)

I could have sworn abe was in there:confused:

Anyhow.there sorted:p

Stop bullying people Cayla .

If anyone would like a different month to the ones listed above, let us know. Cayla won't notice if it's different anyway ... :D.

Erm, Im trying to be helpful:p stop being mean you bully:(

Tsk tsk all of you. Play nice or I shall take the toy away!*

I'm speaking to printers early next week to attempt to wheedle cheaper printing prices from them, so last call to bookmark certain spots for your dogs. :)

*Please play nice as I am not entirely sure how 'taking the toy away' would translate in this situation. And frankly, I am unsure of how to manipulate children older than my eldest niece, who is now 5. My hold on even this little one is beginning to wane as she learns that aunty Pix actually won't disembowel her and feed her to the witch in the attic.

I think it's more like "aunty pix is pissed again, run, run for your life":D

I'm excited at the prospect of having the calendars made up and what they will look like, I always get excited towards the end, the rest is boring:D:D

Hmph at the slur to my child-watching skills. They haven't died yet.

I'm glad you're excited. Tomorrow-ish* I'm going to give you some exciting cost/funds raised figures to squint at, with variable gross figures depending on print runs, printing company and expected sales. Plus thoughts on how improve calendar profits next year. By now you are probably desperate to hug and stroke me, such is your anticipation of the fun of sums. :p:D

*Yeah, might be Monday.
