Anyone know where I can find some decent photographs of an adult horse bot fly? Sure I was chasing one this afternoon but can't find a decent photograph online to ID it - only photos of the larvae.

I don't have a photo but I know the adults have a longish hook thing on their bums. It looks like a large sting but it's not. The buzzing terrifies most horse for some reason.

The trick is to hit it whilst it's flying (they're pretty slow-moving) and stun it, then stomp on it quick!

Yeah, that's it!! The same evil sod that was bugging one of the horses this afternoon. It must have been buzzing around her for a good 20 minutes before I finally managed to wollop it. Horrible looking thing. Eugh....
