Anyone been on one of these?
I really fancy going to one, Somerford Park is the only place I know of in my area.
Did you enjoy it, what standard would I need to be and was there many billy no mates, on there own :D

I wish Cheshire was nearer me! I looked at their website and it looks great - didnt understand their pricing though for the camps - I presume 26 people have to go to share the cost of the facilities?? It would be so fun though (daydreaming) ....
Would love to have a place where I could hold a camp, I will invite you Louby if I manage to move somewhere I could hold on!

Oooh thank you :D
Move quickly.
Somerford park sent me a couple of links to people who organise them. Ive looked at the ones coming up and they are all full :(. I just want to go and have some fun but will be on my own with a 'difficult' horse. Im hoping it will do us both some good.

I'd love to go to one. There's something similar held at cricklands I think later in the year.

Lobby - I'd imagine some people go on their own but if I were you I wouldn't worry about it and go enjoy yourself! It's a chance to make some more horsey friends too :)

I went to a camp a few weeks ago and had the most amazing time! It really has made me realise that we can do a lot more than i thought we could. I went with a group of friends but there were people there who came on their own. Everyone got on well and were really friendly. I would recommend it to anyone, I'm still on a high from it and it was over 3 weeks ago!

I go on a BHS one here in Ireland every year and love it.

Last year I decided to do a second and didn't know anyone going to that one , just figured most people are friendly , everyone there shares a common interest , how hard can it be to make friends .

Went and had a great time , everyone was lovely. Go for it !

The Tank and I went to the Somerford Park one last weekend. It was my first camp.

I had a great time.

We are more happy hackers at the moment. I hate going in the school and we'd never jumped before.

We did beginners XC and were jumping within ten minutes:)

We had flatwork with Trevor English - who was just fab. Lovely bloke and really good.

Bob the Cob was there, Equiscan, weighbridge, a human sports massage therapist.......

I will now go EVERY year from now on - really brilliant.

Sign up for the Facebook group and make some friends with the other attendees before you go.

I went with a few people from our yard but we barely saw each other as lessons were all at different times.

You could try you local RC. Our club has it's 21st camp anniversary this year, however all the places (30) were filled by march. If you find one I am sure you will have a blast.

Oooh really fancy it now, I just need to find one now. We do more dressage (in a fashion :o) and I think it would be great for us both to go out and have some fun. Im off to join the Facebook group now :D:D Thanks everyone

Hi, not in your area i'm afraid but I'm going on one organised by local riding club week before, useing same venue as BHS eatern one mentioned earlier. Really looking forward to it, never been before but apparrently there's people who don't jump going as well as others who want to jump but hate flatwork so seem to cater for all standards and disclipines. Going on my own and rather naively presumed everyone else would be too!?! Like Smudge99 the one I'm going on was overfilled and has waiting list, must be good if all so popular.

Forest Edge is a lovely venue, and the owners are fab. Just take plenty of pound coins for the showers! You'll be fine going on your own - there is usually so much going on that you don't need buddies to sit around with, and you will soon get to know your fellow campers!
