Seeing as I didn't get a chance to do this as a child, would really like to go on one this summer with my sister and her horse!

Wondered if anyone had any recommendations for any places down south? Looking to go for 3-5days to include schooling, showjumping and xc training, and maybe a little hacking :)

My daughter went to Stockland Lovell last spring for three days and had an amazing time. It was an adult camp arranged by her Riding Club, but Stockland Lovell do their own adult camps as well. She did dressage, showjumping and x country and could have hacked as well if she wanted to. She and her horse learnt so much and both of them gained a lot of confidence, especially x country. She can't wait to go again.

I almost did one at Plumpton College last year but in the end it was too much trouble with OH being away for work and kennels for dog and cost and and and :( ... It was advertised in the Friday Ads from about April onwards.

I think Ouse Valley and Distrinct RC do one, if I remember correctly? You have to be a member but that's only about £20 so not a bad thing to join

Will look into Plumpton College a little more... Would probabley be the most simple option as it's just down the road.
Do really like the look of the one in Somerset (stockland Lovell) but it all depends if I can convince the OH to tow the horses all that way...
Cheers peeps :)

Horsham riding club(look on their website) are having a two day camp at Hickstead the begining of april. They use the big all weather polo arena which is fantastic. you can also hack around the grounds. You have full use of the club house to watch tv, cook and watch others have lessons from the balcony. they usually do a bbq and quiz at night.

I used to ride and livery at Lavant House Stables which is near Goodwood in Sussex.

Onsite they have a lovely outdoor school, 3 fields (2 jumpers, 1 plain) and they have a novice cross country course, when I was there the biggest fence was a 2ft6 pheasant feeder.

I did their adult training camp twice when I was 17 & 18 and it was the most fantastic experience. It's only 3 days but it's great and thought you might still be interested.

I can't recommend them enough and although it was over 10 years ago that I was there, from their website it looks as though they are still keeping up the tradition.

Our local BHS do one each year so maybe you could contact your area rep and see if they would? It was put on at a local competition centre and was for 4 days I think, had various instructors and did XC, SJ, dressage, and lovely hacking through the forest.

The one at Plumpton is called Grass Roots and it's amazing! This is the first year in 5 I havnt been able to go and im gutted! It is super popular and has a facebook page which gives more info. There's xc, dressage, showjumping, flatwork with poles, gridwork and evening entertainment/ stuff to do. I have never ended a day and not learned/ achieved something.
