Hello,
Am lookign to get a dog when I move house.
I would like to get a rescue dog if I can. The problem is I don't know how a adult dog would cope with horses (at a livery yard) also with cows/sheep on my boyfriends farm and also with my kittens.
Don't really want a dog that I have to keep on the lead all the time
Should I look for a puppy instead to allow it to grow up with the various animals.
Obviously it depends ont he individual dog but any feedback apreciated.
Liz

We have rescued two Rotties and both have been brilliant with ponies, horses and cats. The terrier we have had from birth however....!!! I think probably as above the dogs with less of a chase instinct might be better. Maybe try rescue forums where people are rehoming their own dogs you may find something that someone has already bomb proofed with a bit more history- we found both of ours this way and they were more relaxed having not been in kennels.
