I am looking to get an air jacket. Being short, the children's L size should be big enough for me (have to do extra measuring to make sure)
What I don't understand is that there is some overlap with children and adults sizes, but significant price difference. Why would you pay more than you had to? Is there a weight thing that I have missed?
I am quite busty, but have always had to buy children's body protectors due to having a short back. Would a children's one protect an adult sufficiently?

It is the VAT which is the difference in price. The size is probably different proportion, but there might be a technical difference too.

Thanks all. I know about the vat, but from what I can find the kids is just a smaller size, no difference in design at all. Just wondered if I had missed something obvious!
Better get measuring!

Check the canister size and if it's the same it will be fine. If it is designed to go off with less force you'll just have to be extra careful you don't get off without unhooking it:D

I wear kids hats, as does a GP friend of mine. I reckon the only difference is the Thelwell stickers in them :)

My top tip would be to check that the lanyard is long enough for you. Was at an event earlier this year when a lady went xc and jumped down a drop fence and her air jacket activated due to her lanyard being too short. When she got back to her box she could not understand why it had happened and it was only when we got chatting and she explained her P2 was a child's Large. We compared lanyards and there was a difference in length. I bought mine in the one day New Year's day sale and have not regretted it, although I have accidentally activated it more than once!

Good point!!!

Thankfully easily solved with a short piece of very strong cord tied to the d of the attachment they give you with it.
