I cant load up my advatar

it says i have to have it under 10000 bytes how can i do this ...?
HELP !!

open your picture and shrink the photo in percentage size without losing the quality etc, i had to have a kind forum helper do it for me this morning

save it under a different name should load. we will watch this (your) space!

register with photobucket.com and upload your pic there , you will have options on size click on avatar size and upload .. hey presto

I have tried this! I can get the picture to the correct number of pixels, but when I upload, H&H says there are too many bytes

The maximum is 10,000, and despite being the correct size, it is still 13,000 bytes - any ideas?!!

Nope!

Have already done that. Uploaded photos, clicked on the one I wanted, clicked on resize to avatar, saved it, then uploaded it, but it says too many bytes!

Copy from photobucket (once resized) into paint (or a programme like that), save as a JPEG and hey presto, it should work, failing that PM and I'll do it for you.
