) but it also really puts me off. I'm sure I could offer your horse as good a home as anyone else on here, but reading that I'd worry that myself and my not-very-expensive facilities wouldn't be good enough for you..
Thanks for all the helpful and not so helpful comments on this thread. All have been taken on board. I now wish this thread to be closed and removed and have asked mods to do so.

If they do remove the thread they are contradicting themselves. A friend of mine asked for a thread to be removed and they denied it, as they only remove threads that break terms and conditions and, personally, I can't see where this thread has broken them.
You asked for our opinion and we gave it. It didn't always agree with your point of view but that is the point of a discussion forum.
I am sorry to say but, if you can not be mature enough to accept other peoples opinions on the threads you post, then what is the point of posting in the first place?
No we are not prepared to start world war three and therefore have THANKED everyone for their assistance but I do not wish my lovely horse being pulled apart and a slanging match ensuing where those are only out for an argument.
Whatever I answer is twisted and turned and I am not prepared to be drawn into the forum tit tat.
Thank you to all those who have been helpful in re-writing the advert.

Well, perhaps you ought to come and try him then you can enlighten us with YOUR expert opinion as to why he hasn't sold yet.
You seem pretty knowledgable in this area after all.

I wouldn't try him, thank you.
This is because, as I said in my first post on this thread - the advert gives me the impression that he is overpriced, untalented, and I know there are better horses for less money on the market.
You may say that this is an incorrect view of your horse...but it's the one I've gained from the advert. So you either have to change your advert...or accept that people like me will read things that you don't wish them to, from it.
I have no hidden agenda about the horse, the owner, or you as a rider - and there's no point me saying 'Oh beautiful horse, I can't possibly imagine why such a star doesn't sell' as it wouldn't help you understand your market's reaction to your adverts.
I thought that was the point of this post...given that you've been trying to sell him for months.
Or perhaps the owner was trying to get an extra bit of advertising, in which case something along the lines of 'I'm so sad I have to sell my gorgeous Harry' may have been a safer bet.

I actually dont think people are out for an agument, and nobody has slated your horse, most people agree he is lovely, i think the truth is you dont like hearing that he isnt worth 10k. It really is as black and white as that, i sold a pre novice eventer recently who had good form, bombproof ride 100% easy. like yours a top end riding club type, i sold him for 6k with no problems, to a lovely home, i actually asked the people what their budget was and it was 6k, if i had put him on for more they wouldnt have looked. My phone was red hot. A few people also suggested i put him on for 8k, you have to strike lucky OR have a good name for selling horses to get big money. To sell them quickly and well you have to appeal to a larger range of people.
If he was still for sale in about a month, I would be very interested- just shown the ad/videos to my mum and she loves him too!
But need to sell mine first- will keep the ad tabbed though!
