ears twitched listening

Now, I definitely prefer her ears aon No 3 - sideways and listening (internally) and relaxing properly rather than, as in 2, where her focus is more on something external.

Sorry you have to sell W ...Personally think no. 3 , shows a nice side view and shes not too overbent in it, she looks nice and relaxed in it , like someone said , she looks to be working long and low .

Such a shame you have to sell

sorry you have to sell her, she is very beautiful. I voted for 2.
She is making a lovely shape, you can see that she is tracking up and also listening to you. 1 is overbent as others have said.
Good luck, i am sure you will find a lovely home for her, she is a stunner.

Altering 3 makes it very obvious that you are trying to change the picture....... the school fence is now at a ridiculous angle

Shame she is going, only been yours a short time

But they're in exactly the same position in pics 2 and 3

Its a shame she has to be re homed so soon. She is beautiful though and the first pic is lovely. Did you buy her with the intention of selling on once backed?

I prefer 2 to 3, although number 1 is the showiest and would catch my eye the most if I was just flicking through.

I think the jumping one is nice too, and also as she is a youngster a conformation shot should be included.

A comment from a slightly different perspective, the saddle looks really far forwards and makes her back look ever so long. It might just be the amount of numnah that is coming out of the front, but it doesn't give a very balanced look to the overall picture.

I prefer the second picture as she looks like she is leaning slightly in the 3rd. However, in order to shorten her back and make her bum look in better proportion, I prefer the picture with her inside leg coming through (as in pic 1 and 5). Also, that angle is slightly more flattering to her. Does that make sense?

I LOVE 2. she looks relaxed, happy and forwards.

Which is exactly why I like this photo. As a young horse being produced and brought on, she doesn't need to be advertised with her head in (and a little overbent). Far better to see her as she is in picture 2.

Depends what market you are aiming at.

From a performance point of view, I would be attracted by no 1 but not any of the others. No 1 shows her working over her back and engaged behind. Although she is quite deep in front she is actually more up through the withers than in the other pictures.

No 2 and 5 show her working in a nice prelim outline, and would be attractive for more amateur market as she looks nice and easy, calm and still in the mouth. However for me she looks a little too flat in her action in these. Also in these 2 the rider is looking a bit perched, which affects the overall impression. In No 1 the rider is more 'into' the horse - it looks as if it would be quite easy to ride the horse more uphill when she progresses in her training.

No 3 does nothing for me: she looks very downhill with too much weight on the shoulders (it doesnt say how old she is though - I am assunming 4 or 5?)

ETA lovely mare though, what a shame you have to sell her

Thanks- she is 4, in her 4th week under saddle.

I think rider is guilty of riding in a GP saddle with too-short stirrups and being more concerned with the horse than her own position.

Wow, she is going great then.

Sorry - I wasn't trying to pick holes in the rider, just commenting on the general impact of the photographs

I think wearing long boots (rider - maybe white ones for the horse!), taking the shoulders back and raising the hands would make a huge diference to this. The photo is there to create a 'look at me' first impression and draw people in to your advert. It is a snapshot of how the horse can / could go, not a training photograph. For me, the current photos all look a bit amateurish if you are aiming for the performance market.

I would get the horse and rider tarted up, take off the breast plate, and have another session. She is a lovely mare but the current pictures make her look nicely produced, but just a bit ordinary. That is just my opinion, of course, and it is meant in a constructive way. Also I have no idea how much money you are hoping to sell for, was just guided by the 'perfromance horse' in the post title.

2 - it has a nicer background than 3 (3 has a rusty box and some green wirey fencing stuff in the background and I know it's not those for sale but a nice, sky/trees background like in 2 helps not distract the eye from the horse).

I also think that she looks like she's listening, she's not overflexed, she's tracking up nicely (or even maybe slightly overtracking?), your position in that one is better (especially line from elbow to mouth though seat is iffy) and you seem to be looking up more in that one, so overall it makes a nice composition.

ETS: can the pics be re-shot? Or is it a choice from just these? I do think as someone's put above that they could be much more glamorous than they are.
