I feel it is ok to post this on here as I have advertised her with H&H. :)
I have had my lovely mare advertised for about 3 weeks and in this last week we have had 3 people come and see her. They all really liked her and were positive about her. She didnt put a foot wrong and did everything that was asked of her. The first lady wanted to come for a second ride and leave a deposit but then her personal circumstances changed. The next lady made a much lower offer than the asking price and we didnt feel that she was the `right one` and the third lady had another lined up to look at and decided to go for that one as it was smaller! Is it just me or what? :(
My mare is a lovely genuine mare who has turned her hoof to dressage altho with a positive rider she will make a lovely all rounder as when I was a more positive rider (younger) ;) I was out jumping BN and Disc.
Is anyone else having these issues with prospective buyers? We thought that the first to see her, would want her as she is so straight forward and lovely but its not the case. I suppose on a positive note, she must be appealing to people to make offers etc but its such a rollercoaster ride when selling a horse. Why cant it all be straight forward......
Rant over...... creme egg and cheesy doritos for all that have read this.
I`d just like to hear other stories of people selling their horses recently. Is there any hope of me finding a lovely home for my mare?...

You'll find her a nice home soon enough :)

I personally hate buying and selling horses, I find it so stressful, the worry of a pony going to the wrong place, or being duped into buying a loon thats way beyond me.

In fact selling I've found more stressful than selling a house lol.
Thankfully I've just my daughters smaller pony to sell now, the bigger one will last for life as will mine.

Better 10 see her and she goes to the right home, than 3 and she went to the wrong one.
I've it all to come next month and am absolutely dreading it xxx

Thanks Missyme, it is very stressful. Its not something that I do really. As my friend says, it only takes one buyer, the right buyer. I hope you find a good home quickly for your pony.
:)

ive got my cob forsale very genuine safe schoolmaster had someone from warwickshire to see him. im in devon so not a short journey. had talked about price and i said i was negotiable by hundreds not thousands so they offered 2k I laughed and said no.

somebody today has left a deposit and agreed on full asking price as i will let them have a short trial due to there needs etc and that was after a 7 hour round trip and only sitting on him. cant do much more as he has 3 shoes and badley needs the farrier (tomorrow) (added bonus they are lovely people)

so .. personally id discuss price before some one spends hours in a car, and ask them what they want its far better to say no sorry she isnt for you than have everyones time wasted.
