My instructor/coach, Suzanne Marshall (she's an Intelligent Horsemanship (Monty Roberts/Kelly Marks) Recommended Associate and Mary Wanless, Ride With Your Mind coach) is looking for a yard manager and other than advising her to advertise here on the jobs section, which she is going to asap, does anyone have any advice? I said I'd ask on the forum cos she's not really sure how it works!!!

The problem is that she is looking for someone with a fairly BHS-style background to running the livery yard, including training liveries, but that has an IH attitude to handling and groundwork, or is at least prepared to learn! It's such a lovely yard and facilities (and I think may also include accommodation if required..) that it really is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to work with horses and learn more about Intelligent Horsemanship.
If I had decided to make horses my career, I would jump at the chance to be around her knowledge and experience, but she probably wouldn't be prepared for me to take all 8 of mine with me!
So - given that she needs to employ someone quite soon as current YM has given notice - where is good to advertise? ie websites/magazines that have frequent issues going out? Any ideas welcome!!:)

Thanks for that - I had noticed the £ hence wondering if it's worth it, whether the sites get sufficient traffic etc to justify it bla bla. I have a bit of a vested interest cos my youngster can't go there for her training until there is a new YM in post :(:(

I would love that job, but have no horsey qualifications :(

Being on maternity leave has given time for me to think and now I'm due to go back, I'm tempted to try something different!

I've pm her ,I'm looking for a job and did ask her a while back but didn't have anything ,it would be ideal for me but it is depending times that she wants as I have to drop and pick up kids from school but I've emailed her to c

TBH I don't really know about hours/terms/rates etc - was just trying to do some research for Suzanne about the best ways to advertise for someone. Is Pegasus worth using as it's in the south east? Any other ideas or websites??
I thought the Intelligent Horsemanship website would be a good place to advertise to get that kind of person - but I'm not sure it has sufficient traffic, and I suppose someone with a fairly traditional background to yard management is needed. The place is immaculate!!

Is Pegasus worth using? Horsemart? Any recommendations for various websites or magazines that don't cos the earth but have a good circulation/website traffic?

I and most of my friends who are looking for work or were thinking about not going to university/just finished a degree almost exclusivley use yardandgroom.com .

I would use that personally as so many people are registered! I would be really interested but have no qualifications :(.
