I am looking for a sharer for a super schoolmaster while I have my baby so for 3-4 months, maybe continuing after for the right person. It's a fab opportunity and I only want a token contribution. He's on full livery so there'd be no stable chores either.

Where on the net can I advertise for free? I will spread the word with my instructor and use local tack shops as well obviously. I am in Kent so ahve tried the tack room frolics forum, but as most of the people there are up towards London I am having no joy.

Try south east riders forum and the pet forum community equestrian section. I'm not far from Kent and having the same problem, tried everywhere with no luck

I think people are put off sharing in the winter

I'm not! I'd love to find something now, even though the weather is getting horrider and horrider at the moment my enthusiasm just keeps growing. I wish I was near maidstone! Here's to everyone who needs a rider finding one and vice versa!

You could try advertising in Birchalls on their notice board. I advertised there when I was looking to loan, although I only had one reply. I was in there on Saturday and saw they had a pony for loan at 14.2. Doesn't cost much per week.

Not sure if there is a noticeboard at Lillico's but that might be worth a try.

How about Friday Ads? Although I don't know if it is free.

Also, howabout local riding schools? My riding school has a noticeboard, although they might not like people advertising to loan incase it takes away a customer.

I'm based in Maidstone, but my new horse was delivered Friday so I wouldn't be any good - plus I'm a novice - which I think puts loaners off (I don't blame them - though we all have to learn somehow)

Ah its nice to know some people are not put off by the horrid weather! I'm near Rye/Hastings/Northiam so anyone who is not afraid of rain PM me! I have a lovely mare up for share!
I'm always looking for more free sites to advertise so fingers crossed for everyone!
Can sharers advertise on this site? Or is that not allowed? I know its pretty much aganst the rules to full on advertise horses for sale/share/loan, but perhaos people looking for horses are allowed to post wanted ads? That would be useful.
Good luck!
