Ive had my horse advertised for loan for the last couple of weeks now but havnt had much interest at all.

Hes on horsemart and whilst his advert has had 850 views, ive only had a few people email/ring up about him

Hes now on horsetoloan.com and they have put him as horse share of the week but ive still only had 1 email about him

Im going away for 6 months in October so really need to get something sorted and to make sure loaner is happy with my horse and vice versa!

Ive only had 2 people come and look at him. the first was a young girl who was totaly uselss (bless her) who couldnt even tack him up. the 2nd person really liked him and wanted to come back this week to ride him again but she text me on sunday to say he was a lovely horse but its too far for her to travel

So can any one give me any other sites that are good for advertising horses for loan

Is horsequest worth the money?

maybe its just me being impatient but I really cant see why people havnt rung up as he's such a lovely horse and theres nothing in the advert that should put people off (well not that i know off)

im really at a loss or is it that no one is looking for horses in lancashire at the minute

Do you want to put your ad or horses details on here/loan details etc, might be able to offer pointers as to why you arent getting a good response.

Are you by any chance putting that he needs to stay at present yard, as this puts a lot of people off.

Might have more luck if you allow people to transport the horse to their own yard?

Ok, I'm daft - just had a look on horsetoloan and found him. Have to agree with -

Must stay at own yard is a huge turn off for a lot of potential loaners, especially if you're wanting to do a full loan

his horsemart reference is HM7268C35

horsetoloan is http://www.horsetoloan.com/1296.htm

I have put to stay on present yard as i would prefer him too. he is nice and settled and as its only full loan for 6months i would unsettle him again when i move him back. as i wont be in the country i would like him on the same yard as I will already have friends and family that will also look out for him. If the loaner then wanted to carry on part loan i would again obviously want him back at my yard

Do you think it would be worth saying prefer to stay on yard but would consider move for the right person? and then i would just have to make doubly sure everyting was ok before letting him move

i think it would be worth saying he can move if it is the right person as then they can have more freedom as the lack of freeom may be putting them off at the moment.

Have you advertised in your local free ads, tack shop, with the blacksmith, the vets, feed merchants..............................??

I think when you are restrictive like that, you will struggle to find someone - after all you narrow down your prospective market to moreorless 5/10 miles around the yard you are at.

Provided you vet the potential home there is no reason he can't settle quickly at a new yard and be perfectly happy whilst you are away.
