Advertising on horse trailers

There are different traffic commissioners for different area's and their interpretations can be very different. The problem with traffic commissioners is the tend to be judge, jury and executioner and their powers are quite far reaching!

Well good luck ! It was made very clear to us as soon as you put any form of advertising for a commercial operation on the side of your vehicle it then classifies it as commercial maybe you asked the wrong question as thats about advertising(a commercial activity) nothing to do with sponsorship dont think having sponsorship allows you to advertise on your lorry it is two totally different things.

Agree, many racers (motorbike) now have removed sponsor logos on race vans etc. West Midlands, Surrey, Hants to name but 3 are quite hot on this from routine VOSA stops, last season and this season to date.

*digs up old thread* am currently looking into having a new horsebox conversion done and am considering having OH's business logo and my website (non commercial just a review/blog type) put on it.

I've called my old insurers and they said they'd refer to underwriters but he thinks with logos on it would have be insured as commercial vehicle but possibly not at full commercial as I remain an amateur not competeing for significant reward and certainly not hiring it out.

The lorry is 3.5 ton so does this come under TACO rules etc and are VOSA likely to be interested its stickers?!

3.5 tonnes GVW or under then exempt EU tacho regs

That has nothing to do with it being classed as commercial and therefore subject to H&W commercial insurance etc + possibly O licence rules

If your OH s logo is advertising a commercial business you will classed as professional use.

Sorry for being really thick about this but I think I've missed something in the thread, if lorry has advertising, and is insured for commercial use due to the advertising is that all I need to do? It's too small to need a taco so if it had the correct insurance which I've already discussed with insurance company then is that it?!

I feel I'm missing something but not sure what?!
