So the pony is advertised for loan. She has a few issues, all of which are stated in the advert. It also states she's only been lightly backed by me and although she would make a suitable LR pony it would take a bit of work to get her used to a rider. I'm sure people only look at the picture and dont read the actual words!

Why do I have people ringing wanting her for their child to take hunting this winter - do they not like their child?

Wanting to take their kids hacking as the mother does endurance riding and needs something small for the kids to ride when the dad can't look after them - "Don't worry, I'll lead her from my horse, she's only 17hh..." (pony is 11.2)

Wanting to loan her so they can learn how to back and bring on a horse as she's small so it will be easier.

Needing a small M&M to do LR workers with over the winter (this one actually sounded sensible at first) for her 14 year old daughter who probably weighs about 10 stone but in the photo she sent of her on a 13.2hh riding school pony she looks huge (at this point I decided the mother was mad)

I'm going to end up living in a blooming stable this winter at this rate!

I think the mums are all mad! They all want mega fast ponies and won't look at anything needing a bit of leg-even for tiny tots! I had a woman phone at the weekend who told me she found my ad very suspicious eg I had written needs restricted grazing, and suitable to be used as a lead rein then can go off lead rein-she actually called me to tell me she found my ad suspicious! The pony in question is an absolutely safe lead rein/first pony! So yes they do read-in fact they read things into ads that aren't htere sometimes!
