Adverts

Mine was advertised as a big spoilt brat, lots of attitude and no manners! Needs firm handling and bringing back into work. Nicely bred with good paces. Will load but on her terms! Was wholly accurate!
blush.gif

Now I would put:

16.2hh black mare, nice paces and jump. Hacks alone and in company. Good to do in all ways with a lovely nature - has taught a novice to ride. Needs firm and consistent handling and better on individual turnout! Still will only load on her terms - although we have never yet failed to get her in....

I would have gone to see her having read the current ad, but probably wouldn't have been able to afford her!

First off, i am NEVER going to sell ellie; she is my soulmate, and as such will be with me to the end of her days. but if i was to advertise her (seriously), it would read something like this:

15.2hh bay Arab x SF mare, grandsire Alme Z, 12 years old.
£170 BSJA notional, Reserve Champion Trailblazers 2002. Jumped Newcomers, scope to go further but rider held back! Done PC/RC, schooled XC, has hunted, now competing Novice dressage. Good to clip/box/shoe, but not novice ride.

+ the bits that WOULDNT sell her:

Very mareish, kicks, may bite if given chance, weaves, pretends to windsuck, often stuffy if not given own way, always bucks 3 times on every canter, VERY spooky, complete schizophrenic at home and hacking but an angel in the ring!!!

i didnt buy her through an advert, but if i had seen this ad, i would have still flown out the door to see her, even tho 12 would have been too old back then!

I advertised mine and got no end of callers

Has become a very lovely looking field ornament due to being slightly broken(nothing some good superglue wouldn't fix). Will go for the occasional hack, just don't push your luck
grin.gif
Great companion to youngsters as will teach them all the bad habits you don't want them to have
blush.gif
Very loving in a thug-like way

16HH TB chestnut mare by Keen 8 yrs old, 100% in traffic when she been in it) brilliant to handle, a baby could handle her, not spooky or anything, however has a splint on hind leg, splint on front leg (which is fractured and so she is off work) schooling wise, goes fantastically in an outline and works correctly on the bit in walk , trot and canter work is still a bit giraffe like
tongue.gif
was coming along nicely til she went lame
frown.gif

Can be a bit funny to load but eventually goes in (box or trailer) usually takes maximum of 20 mins, Is a complete cow towards the vet and will try and kill him if he produces a needle
tongue.gif
but is good to shoe
grin.gif

How much would you pay for her?

I'd like to post, but not a good idea pointing out bad points in case I ever wanted to sell any of mine!! :P

Although actually my main 2 don't actually have anything really terrible, except one has just proven allergic to some rather shocking things!! So I guess mine would go:

"16.2hh Lusitano x TB grey gelding. 8yrs. Very honest and genuine. Over £500 BSJA in limited outings. Currently competing Novice BE, almost always in top 8. Qualified 2 day / Intermediate. Qualified Intro Regionals, PN Scottish Champs, Trailblazers Finals, PC Dengie SJ Finals, BRC Equitation SJ Champs etc. etc. This year qualified for BRC Champs (Open SJ) and past 3 years BRC Horse Trial Champs (competed there '05 and '06 being placed both times). Super horse who tries his heart out. Dream to handle, load, catch, clip etc."

BAD - Has bolted twice due to a fear of cows whilst hacking alone, so I choose not to hack anymore. Has 2 splints and the odd small scar on hind legs.

My other horse:

"15.2hh 6yr old black reg Welsh Sec D gelding. Extremely handsome, masses of presence. Qualified for BRC National Champs (SJ), BSPS M&M WH and Equitation SJ Finals at Blair '07 etc. Been shown locally - Overall Ridden Champion 3 times. Won BSJA. Qualified 1m Amateur 2nd rounds '07. Did first BE Intro last month, clear XC. Very lovable horse with huge character. Excellent load, catch, clip etc."

BAD points - Gets a bit bored with the farrier and tends to nibble his bum for amusement! Can be a typical Welsh Cob (bolshy etc.). Addicted to food. Attention seeking. Will smash up trailer if ever take another horse and leave him on own...! Can nibble owner if bored. Can buck (but hilarious).

my mares would be:

14hh appaloosa x welsh cob
very cheeky and likes to sit on your lap if you don't scratch her bum in the right place.
She is a good doer and gets very fat on air lol she will follow you round the field while you poo pick hindering everything you try to do including tipping over the wheel barrow or pushing you over while you bend down to scoop poo into your scoop.
Very talanted and has alot of potential, she can easily undo your chaps if she gets bored out on a ride and likes the noise a manhole cover makes when she taps on it (be prepared to stand in the road doing this for at least 10 minutes)
wasted at present home as all we do is go on pub rides although she fully enjoys playing with the big umberella, sitting on the bench, stealing chips, picking up knives and forks, licking the vinegar and salt shaker as well as mobbing push chairs so that toddlers can hang from her nostrels(sp)
Is literally bomb proof
passported, vaccinated and wormed upto date.

Somewhere over 16hh 6YO Grey mare.
Eventing at intro and Prenovice level with scope to go further.
Will bite you If you try to give her love, tries to kick you when you go anywhere near her. Allround evil minded B***h!
£100000

smile.gif
I love my horse, good job I will never ever sell her

Harry's would say
Ponce of an anglo, set on staying with mum for the rest of his days, so I wouldnt bother to come and see him, he wont be having any of it
grin.gif

Dilly's
strong charactered welsh mare. Poos for england when stressed. Loves mum, and other select few. Keeps the entire herd in order. Backed at 9 and just learning leg and hand aids. Will make super hot water bottle in winter.

My pony's ad said just
"Wonderful perfect gentleman, he looks after his rider"
TBH it was pretty accurate although maybe should have been:

"Wonderful perfect gentleman, he looks after his rider...but is built like a tank and frequently moves like one. Can be difficult to get going. Can be difficult to stop. Will happily ride along past working combine harvesters etc without batting an eyelid, but very suspicious of a certain flower pot. Likes chasing pigeons. Completely soppy."

But he's proved the original ad to be pretty accurate and I wouldn't change him
