Hi folks,
(Sorry for the long post)
I bought a new saddle for my mare about 8 months ago - a Kent and master GP. The saddler I bought it from offers a post sale review and check up/re flocking etc. despite trying to get in touch with them they never responded.
A couple of months later, my mare started getting a bit grumpy with her saddle- so I got another local saddler to review and reflock as I still couldn't get hold of the saddler who sold me the saddle. He said it could do with a little bit of reflocking but other than that was ok.
She was still grumpy to put her saddle on but was fine to ride, and started progressing well. Another 2/3 months later it happens again - sure enough another reflocking.
I'm at the stage of yet another reflocking and have a VERY grumpy mare, who is not comfortable ( she's come back into work after a week/ 10 days off over Xmas.)
Teeth and back have been checked, pretty sure it's just the saddle.
She's almost always grumpy to be tacked up and always has been like this regardless of which saddle, (unless there's something more interesting to look at in which case she forgets to be grumpy!), but up until very recently has been fine to ride.
It seems to be a pattern and I'm not sure how to proceed; anyone have any bright ideas? Also can anyone recommend a saddler in the Berkshire area who can be relied upon for an honest opinion - just in case I need a 3rd opinion on saddle fit?
Many thanks.
