Advice and views on this horse please :-)

Bit of an odd advert? Why would you say that a horse was too big and strong for you to handle and then say it had a lovely temperament? Worth a look at that price if you're close but I'd certainly be asking some questions.

It is a very weird ad. I Have 2 haflingers a mare and a stallion. I adore this breed but they are very strong so I would not advice a Haflinger/cob cross. I bought mine as youngsters and had to work very hard for several years to make them well behaved and trustworthy. the mare still spooks now. (slams breaks on and does a 180° turn all in a second) I was always on the floor at first and I became the yard joke.
Think hard;)

Serious warning bells would be going off! Nothing is mentioned about it loading, clipping, shoeing. By sold from the field does she mean you couldn't see it ridden or you could if you got a rider? I think I would be put off enough for without the mention of how strong she is and totally unfit, but thats me who is not longer the most confident!
I think it would either be a total bargain from someone who had over horsed themselves or an animal with a ton of problems and a big strong one at that! If you are confident and experienced enough to sort her out it may be ok. She would have to be MEGA cheap ie meat money and take a risk on it. Obviously a full vetting too and hope it would be sound bought back into work... Size wise I had a Percheron who was 16.1 and due to the width of her a man of over 6ft would look fine so I wouldn't worry about that. Let us know if you view her.

From the photo she looks nice but the description doesn't make sense...Why would you buy a first time horse that was too big for you, was too strong and your not confident enough to do anything with it?
Give the owner a call, ask loads of questions and take it from there.
As for height, unless your 6 foot 4 you wouldn't be too tall for her but you won't really know until you've sat on her and feel how she takes your height.
Good Luck and let us know how you get on :)

Thank you for all the replies, I am 5ft 6 and a half (dont forget the half:p) I loaned a 14.3 haflinger and got alot of comments from people on the yard about being to tall but like I said i them. The horse isnt far away but the ad seemed strange to me but I tend to read too much into things so a second opion is always welcome
