Horse is in a myler comfort snaffle. Hacked. Schooled. With this bit. With jumping she can lock onto the fences and she’s a hot little thing. But not strong. She’s short coupled. Very short neck. Nothing in front. She will go below the vertical at times and tuck her head in. At a jump clinic today. The instructor advised to switch to a Wilkie. My concern is they put more pressure on the poll? Or am I incorrect ? Which will surely make her coil even more ? I’ve been sent examples. But I’m not sure. Anyone use these ?

Wilkie is a gag. From your description I feel that would amplify the problem. You are spot on.

My mare is similar, lucky my hubby is a trainer and has given me a neat little method to unlock and keep her light and soft into a fence. It didn’t involve changing bits.
