I recently bought a new horse this september after a 5 year break from riding and competing as I took up athletics.
So...... I have had a JC Showjumper in the past and being from Ireland she had competed every weekend and not bothered about going to shows but my new horse java hasnt been to many shows and Im a little anxious about it,
Even though he is twelve he has only been to six shows I think !
He is a rather nosy horse and winnies a lot and prances around when he sees other horses although i was told he has been to pony club and been fine. He can be a little spooky on the odd ocassion and he has never been in an indoor school and this is where the show is!
Two days ago I put him on NAF magic to help his loading and general spookiness as when attempting to load him he stands on the ramp and refuses to move! he doesnt do anything, but just simply stands there!
Is there anything I should do when I get there like walk him round for a while? He is by know means a highly strung horse in fact quite the opposite when doing flatwork although fires up a little when jumping
any suggestions appreciated
