I didn't say anywhere to stop ball chucking?
I just think ball chucking with more than one dog can be a recipe for disaster (depending on the prey drive/possession levels of the dogs in question) and it is not something I would do.
It's also a pretty high impact exercise for a young dog in terms of sudden stops, turns, landings etc.
I always now throw a 'running rabbit' along the ground, it's a more natural prey movement, rather than throwing into the air, which risks the dog jumping and twisting and landing awkwardly. Seen too many needless injuries and having had a dog that used to chase birds, not something I want to encourage!!

It was ball throwing that led to my friends dogs £10k spinal surgery.

I tended to just drop the ball at my feet for one dog (the act of chasing it jacked him up too much to think straight) and I found it much safer. The other dog has less drive and I did have to fling it as a reward, but I was constantly wincing, as hes a delicate flower....

I didn’t say you did, nor was I referencing your post. I repeat, I’d advocate the ball throwing-because it works to keep my da dog focussed and dogs around him safe. The OP’s daughter’s dog sounds like mine ie not too good with other dogs.

I’m very well aware of the impact on joints. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before ? Zak has HD so we are very careful with him, lots of scentwork to find the ball rather than making him jump for it or do suddenly twists to return.
