Hi everyone, Ive been advised to use a grazing muzzle on my cob. I got him the comfort grazing muzzle..he has been very good in it and has not tried to remove it. The only problem is that its made a sore patch on his nose and nostril. Ive been putting sudacream on..but its still sore. It seems to be sore where there is a gap in nylon webbing of the grazing muzzle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had problems with very bad chin sores- cut out the section of the muzzle and was fine- she ha small sores on her nose which has scabbed over after a couple of nights in the stable. Now the muzzle seems fine as a callus has formed over the area

You just have to work through it really. I did cut some socks into strips and cross tie through the holes of the sections that were rubbing. This worked well - the socks got full of grub which kind of formed to create a dirty but smooth layer where it sat on her nose. Nose will harden up but you will need to let it rest to do that...
