Hi guys, Right looking for a little help as I'm starting to stress out about my insurance and my horse.
My horse had been having issues working on his right rein and I got my vet to give him a check over. He said to get a physio out to check him over. She came out checked him over and said he was a little tense in his hips and did her stuff with him, but referred me back to my vet for further investigation.
Vet came back and did his checks and both physio and vet advised 4 weeks of walking work to strengthen up his hind quarters. 2 weeks in he started misbehaving again and I pushed him on for a further week before contacting my vet to say I was having issues. He came out and gave me danillion to see if it was a pain issue. At this point we talked about insurance incase it was going to need further investigation. The danillion proved without a shadow of a doubt that it has been a pain issue and my vet told me to contact the insurance company as he wants to do a scan and more investigation into the issue.
So I phoned insurance company and they sent a claim form to my vet. I have been stressing out because my vet told me 2 days after I contacted them that the insurance company did the most unusual thing and contacted him as soon as I came off the phone. He said that they never do that and it doesnt sound good so he thinks they may not cover him for this.
If they come back after the letter my vet has sent out which has the physio notes and stuff in and say there a problem where do I stand with this. Also what happens as I really cant afford to take on this vet bill as I now its going to be a big one and I'm paying off a big bill for a gut issue earlier in the year.
Can anyone shed any light on this or what options I may have. Sorry a big cuppa and cookie if you got this far. Sorry for wittling on, Just so stressed about everything.
