Some of you know about my recent troubles with Tango.

I bought him in August and have ridden him for about 2 weeks in total, he has been diagnosed with Kissing Spine and at the moment is completely unrideable, he had cortisone injection and I have lunged in a pessoa 5-6 times a week, used a magnet rug for 5 weeks and hes been on bute. On saturday, after all that time off I tried to ride again (going on vets advice). He still felt exactly the same as before, tense, trying to buck and eventually started leaping about and nearly had me off (again).

I am going to speak to my insurance company and the vet today about looking into the operation route. This is obviously the most drastic route to take as they cut away part of his spine but also seems to be the only permanent solution.

I just wonder where I stand with respect to his old owner as when I bought him he seemed fine, but now have ended up with an unrideable horse. I was thinking of getting his bloods tested that were taken during the vetting to see if he was buted up when I bought him.

I just feel so stitched up as I cant see that this has started to affect him so drastically over night, he must have been like it with her too!!!!

Where do I stand legally with this even though he was vetted and 'sold as seen'

Hi, I am sorry about Tango and his health issues.
in relation to the sale - i dont think you would be able to take action against the seller especially as you had him vetted. Perhaps if there was any action to be taken it would be against the vets for not picking up on it?

Sorry to hear your troubles.

My mare had the operation and was totally fine afterward.
So in the long run that is the best thing.

As he was vetted it seems odd the vets didnt notice anything wrong, obviously they dont had x ray eyes buy they should have noticed something wrong with his back.

Be careful that your insurance will pay as or you will be left with a huge vets bill, he obviously had this problem before.
Why did the owners tell you they were selling him?
You could try the route of they sold him knowing he had something wrong and hid it from you.
