Advice needed please!

Hi everyone,

I am new on this forum and am in need of some advice. I might be getting a job as a live-in groom for the rest of the summer. This would be my first job as a paid groom on a yard that I have been told has pretty high standards and basically I would like to know what kind of clothes/footwear would be the best/most suitable as I want to be smart and professional but comfortable...I am lucky enough to be able to keep my horses at home so I can wear pretty much what I like when I am outside with them but have a feeling my jeans and track's wouldn't cut it on a proper yard! Feel a bit silly asking this as I have a general idea but would really like other peoples thoughts and help as don't want to be stuck for clothes etc when/if I get there...any other advice on being a live-in groom in general would be appreciated!

If riding then joddies, and polo shirts.

Otherwise not sure about the jeans, can you ask them, have you checked out what others wear around the yard, or call an equine employment agency and ask them, maybe. Any way good luck.

Personally I think dark jodhpurs, polo short if warm, dark sweatshirt and/or fleece or jacket if cold. Good luck!
