My little terrier x has got very little feeling in her back end in regards to her bowls!
She is 15 months and was from a resuce home . Her previous owners before she was rescued thoght she was a male

She has been like it since we had her which was 5 months ago. She is nervous of men not sure if she was beaten

But she has come on leaps and bounds both with men and also with being trained and knowing she has to go to toliet outside! She tries her little heart out to get to the door intime

With her bowls and knowing when she needs to go, she does not have any feeling tbh untill it is practically on its way out

(sorry)

With passing unring she has a bit more notice, but still very little, she aks at the door but its still a dash to the door to get her out in time!

If she gets excited, eg: going out for a walk, when your getting your boots on she gets al little excited about going and she has to go out the front as she will go to the toliet.
But she doesnt have any feeling and cant control it

Anyone got any ideas of why she has this problem??

sounds like nerve damage of some description, poor little girl, maybe it could tie in with her dislike of men? been dropped, hit, smacked hard?! sure its unlikely to do with spaying, these vets know what they are doing and i think the nerves to bowels, bladder etc come down from spine to those areas (welcome to correction) this is where i have heard of nerve damage occuring in the past from rtas etc. i dont think spaying would even infringe on those nerves?

Has she been to the vet with this problem? She could have been damaged in her previous home maybe? A hard thump on a small dog like that might have damaged nerves in her spine.

Have you tried regulating when she goes to the loo and pre-empting her toilet needs so she never feels that urgency? I ask mine to go and even when they give me that pained look that says 'I don't NEED to go' they still produce something.

Yes she has an appoitment tomorrow with the vets!
Just wonderd what your opinions were before we went. Correction with the 5 months having her, meant to type 3 keyboard error)
Yes we pre empt her going to the toliet, put them out, also have a lab ( they love each other) and buds goes on command, so we send them out and say toliet and she does produce!

Temsik: Thats what are intital ideas were to nerve damage.
She is the most loving dog, and always aims to please. But I would never see her suffer.

Do you know that she has no feeling or control? when some dogs are born and bred in bad conditions they dont understand about being clean and sometimes never get over it! Have you tried cage training this is a quick way of house training. If she dosnt have and control it may have something to do with nerve damage, has this only come on since the spay?
