Advice needed re sharer please

My friend has a fab welsh sec D that is forward going but safe and ticks all the usual boxes (travels, clips , hacks out alone or in company etc etc) but she really has no interest in riding anymore. He is kept on full livery at the yard where i have my horse and i try and ride him whenever i have the time. She is thinking of trying to get a sharer to help out with costs and also as she feels he really is too good a horse to be standing in the field not doing much.
The problem is where to look / advertise?
Since i'm at the yard most days I would probably be the point of contact for anyone sharing him so i get a bit of a say in vetting people and i really cant face dealing with the joy riders and bored 14 year olds that will inevitably call if we put an advert online somewhere.

any advice of places to look and how much it would be fair to expect them to pay gratefully appreciated!
 
I think where ever you advertiise you will get the usual teenagers. You just need to wean them out when you talk to them on the phone.

I share two horses at the moment and found them both online; preloved and gumtree. I didn't often go into tack shops before as i had no real reason!! And it is very easy and cheaper to buy everything onlile.

So from my experiences i would adverties in preloved, horse to share, gumtree, stable talk etc. but put an advert into your tackshop to.
Sometimes word of mouth is the best though!!

As for costs.... i used to pay £180 a month for Maggie when she was on full livery and the owner was pregnant. Now the owner just wants me to school so I pay £90 a month. I get to ride her 3-4 times a week. The facilities are amazing there as well.

the other horse i pay £60 for unlimited riding and horse is on DIY. No one rides horse and it was going to waste. Only a small sand school


Guess it depends on the situation, i would say no more than£180 cause thats alot! Depends on how many days sharer will ride, what the facilites are like, if the horse hacks alone, if the sharer can have lessons/ goto comps.
 
Thanks , in an ideal world id like an adult that has had horses in the past and has maybe had to give them up for children that would take him to riding club comps and generally spoil him rotten.I know this is perhaps asking alot mind you lol

im currently looking for a sharer, to fit around work, and im 16yo. tbh, i dont think its all about the riding as id be happy not to ride.

& ive been offered a 17.2hh TB gelding to excercise, showjumper. and im not even paying for that, im getting paid for it on a weekly basis..

i think most people will avoid it if you want contribution money, as.. as soon as i see money towards i click off it, and look for someone that will pay me, and there plenty that are for free im afraid.
