Apologies fellow hho'rs for not being on here for quite some time! Have been very busy with work, horses, work, finally starting to have a life and more work, but in my time of need I know you'll help!
Anyway I've had the speshul needs pony for 3 years and up until 2 months ago never had a problem seperating him from any of the horses he has shared a field with. This was the horse you could bring in at any time, leave on his own all day, in the stable, in the field and he wouldnt bat an eye, but now...
I have a raving loonatic, that is going completely bonkers in his stable, bucking, rearing, throwing himself around, head shaking, getting himself in to a lather, you name it he's doing it, even though he has company in the next stable of my little shettie is on box rest at the mo. It all started 2 months ago when a new set of liveries arrived on my yard.
I've never had this issue before, he's always just got on with it, but I'm at a complete loss as to why he's changed all of a sudden, its completely out of character.
So, so far, I have put him back in a field on his own, he can still see the one of mine on the other side of the electric fencing and he can see the two he was in with over the gate (so he's still in sight of other horses). I'm bringing him in for short periods of a time (like I said he's not on his own) but he's still going mad.
Has anyone had any experience with anything like this and do you have any advice on what I can do to stop this (I must admit I'm at a loss as I've never had a horse like this, let alone had something that has had such a dramatic change of character in such a short space of time).
Help please...
