Appologies and a jolly big easter egg in advance as this will take a while to expain. Last summer about 2 months after I got my horse I went off on holiday for 7 days. While I was away one of my horsey friends and the YO shared looking after him for me. Just grooming mucking out and feeding etc but no riding as we decided that 7 days off wouldn't cause any harm and since he was very new to me probably for the best. My horse is a complicated character as many tbs are and can be quite naughty if not handled in the right way. (He'll bite and kick out and if he thinks you're scared then you're buggered) Any way the day I got home I got a call from another friend to tell me that he'd turned into a nightmare and could only be handled by the YO's husband and only if he was wearing a hat! Apparently my friend had gone to pick out his feet on day 2, he'd kicked out, she backed off, he realised he'd invented a good game! Anyway he tried his unruley behaviour out on me once, realised he wasn't going to intimidate me and turned back into the same horse as before I went away.
Thing is I'm going away for 5 days next month and said friend has offered to look after him for me again and asked if this time I want her to ride him. I have to be honest and say that saving a few quid on livery services wouldn't go amiss but do I really need the worry of returning home to a hooligan? Plus (and I know this sounds awfull) but I really don't like the way my friend rides her own horse and don't really want her riding mine. Any ideas how to diplomatically handle this one will be really appreciated. Sorry again for the length of this post.
